I did a little bit og google searching on this and it appears that it's somewhat common although the fix is not obvious. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this.

For anyone that might still be having the issue and stumbles in to this, I resolved it without disabling hardware acceleration. It seems to be related to it, but I resolved it by going in to my display settings (right click on desktop, go to display settings) and turning down the slider labelled "Change the size of text, apps, and other items" all the way to the left ().
